The task is to assist with HR, Health and Safety and contract management for SafeSkys’ bird control and wildlife management contracts on RAF Stations and civil airports in England, Scotland and Wales.
You need to hold a full driving licence. Ideally you will have RAF experience as a WO or junior officer, good people skills and a shotgun and firearms certificate. Full training will be given. Salary is £21,000 - £25,000 based on experience. Use of a company pool car for site visits, pension and death in service benefit. Uniform provided for visits to staff. Part Time Wildlife & Bird Control Operator - RAF Lossiemouth / Inverness Airport, Scotland
This would not suit anyone who already has a job or is seeking a full time post
SafeSkys has a vacancy starting now for a part time bird control operator at RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Kinloss and Inverness Airport. You would be trained at all three airports and would provide relief for the full time staff as and when required. About 10-20 hours per month with possibly some overnight shifts. The role would be to staff a Bird Control Unit as part of a team. Your responsibility would be to patrol the airfield in a 4WD vehicle to deter birds which could cause a hazard to aircraft. You need to have a full driving licence, be colour perception safe and able to hold a shotgun licence issued by the local police. No age limits or formal qualifications are required as full training will be provided. This would suit anyone with spare time on their hands or ex-service persons especially those with an interest in ornithology, wildlife and the outdoors.
